Many have heard of the legendary "F1" drifting of the Diehao dragon boats, but few understand the customs, craftsmanship, and spirit passed down through generations behind this folk tradition. - 我走訪了番禺上漖百年龍舟工坊，這裏是珠三角傳統龍舟的重要制作地。非遺匠人選用名貴坤甸木打造船身，精工細作的龍舟堅固耐用，一艘船便能陪伴幾代人，當地甚至還留存著擁有近六百年曆史的古龍舟。當地人獨有的護船方式格外特別，龍舟賽後並不會上岸存放，而是沈入水中養護，這是老祖宗流傳下來的生活智慧。 I visited the century-old dragon boat workshop in Shangjiao, Panyu, a vital production center for traditional dragon boats in the Pearl River Delta. Intangible cultural heritage artisans use precious ironwood to craft the boats, resulting in meticulously crafted, sturdy, and durable vessels that can accompany generations. The area even preserves ancient dragon boats nearly 600 years old. The locals have a unique way of protecting their boats: after the race, they don't bring the boats ashore but instead submerge them in the water for preservation—a testament to the wisdom passed down from their ancestors. - 一路上，我全程見證了起龍、新船駿水、點睛等一系列傳統儀式。香火祭品、鞭炮齊鳴、衆人提筆爲龍頭點睛，每一個環節都莊重又熱鬧，藏著嶺南人的宗族情懷與美好期許。而疊浩狹窄曲折的河道裏，選手們駕著長舟高速穿梭在 S 彎、L 彎、C 彎之間，賽場激情四射，每年的系列賽事更是吸引無數遊客專程前來圍觀。 Along the way, I witnessed a series of traditional ceremonies, including the dragon boat launching, the new boat gliding on the water, and the eye-dotting ceremony. Incense offerings, the crackling of firecrackers, and the act of dotting the dragon's eyes with calligraphy brushes—every step was solemn yet lively, embodying the clan spirit and aspirations of the Lingnan people. On the narrow, winding waters of Diehao, competitors steered their longboats at high speed through S-curves, L-curves, and C-curves, creating a thrilling spectacle. The annual series of races attracts countless tourists who come specifically to watch. - 最讓我動容的，是傳統文化的鮮活傳承。如今越來越多 00 後年輕人加入龍舟隊伍，跟著前輩學習擂鼓、劃槳。陣陣鼓聲不只是比賽的號令，更是連接代代龍舟人的紐帶。 What moved me most was the vibrant transmission of traditional culture. Today, more and more young people born in the 2000s are joining dragon boat teams, learning drumming and paddling from their elders.
