The first major round of thunderstorms from Monday is over, the second is coming today. The next major thunderstorms will occur primarily overnight into Friday and throughout the day on Friday. Afterwards, an exchange of air masses will take place. Drier polar air will move in, bringing temporarily cooler and more stable conditions. After that, the weather will be unpredictable. In terms of total precipitation, there should be a (temporary) respite with heavy rainfall in the east, south, and especially in the Alpine region. Of course, this will not (yet) solve the underlying problem of the lack of groundwater, particularly in the south and the Alpine region!
