‪@nanivazana‬ sings ‘No Kero Madre’ a new song from her upcoming album ‘Ke Haber’. The world's first original Ladino album. This video was recorded in the Eye Filmmuseum in Amsterdam, Nani Noam Vazana - voice, Pericles Makris - guitar, Christian Palmieri - percussion Nani Noam Vazana grew up in Israel, but went to study in Amsterdam. She is a singer, composer, trombonist, pianist and conductor and performs all over the world. Guitarist Pericles Makris and percussionist Christian Palmieri accompany her in this session. Ladino was the language of the Sephardic Jews of the Diaspora. Noam's Moroccan grandmother still spoke this language. So Noam has Ladino roots. It is a language she cherishes. Ladino is related to Spanish and was spoken by Jews in Spain, Portugal and also in Morocco. ‘No Kero Madre’ is about: a mother-daughter dialogue about prospective grooms. The mother suggests a tall man, a jealous man and a rich man but the daughter refuses them all. Eventually, the mother despairs and tells her daughter ""there is no hope for you, you might as well marry the drunk"". The daughter reasons that she's already in love with the drunk, and explains why it's important to marry out of love and not out of obligation.
