Nakhchivan is a famous place for its magnificent mountains, gorgeous historical fortresses and genius personalities. The formation of the toponym Nakhchivan is connected with the legend of Noah. Noah escaped with his family and the creatures he took in the ark he built by God's command and settled in what is now Nakhchivan. The toponym "Nax" is divided into 3 parts as "chi" and "van", and "Nakh" is the name of the Prophet Noah, "chi" is a suffix in Turkish, and "van" is an ending in Iranian.
