A rabbi and frequent lecturer on a broad range of topics including spirituality and self-esteem, he was the author of many books including Waking Up Just in Time and The Spiritual Self: Getting Up When You’re Down. He was the founder and medical director emeritus of Gateway Rehabilitation Center.
