Walking Tour of Turkey – Part 582 #81provinces81saplings #WalkingTurkey @gezginnecip @ademönüt @gezginizci20 This walk is an awareness movement. After the great forest fires of 2021, I embarked on a walking tour of Turkey to raise awareness about our forests. Starting in Manisa, I continue my journey with my dog Yoldaş, who joined me in Edirne, under the motto "81 Provinces, 81 Saplings – Walking for Forests." In every city I reach, I aim to plant a sapling to create awareness for the protection of forests, nature, and our future. This walk is dedicated to our forest martyrs and everyone who lost their lives in the fires. In this Part: With the hospitality of our teacher Hasan, we started the day in a nostalgic vineyard house around Karahük: tea was brewed while the stove crackled, and the memory of the gas lamp added a special touch to the spirit of this part. Before breakfast, we bought some of the region's famous bread, which has a very long history, and prepared for our trip. Then, together with our teacher Hasan, we first visited the historical sites in the area. We listened to the story of Avşar Mill, an old water mill; we talked about how it used to be a meeting point for markets, villages, and people. Along the way, Yoldaş was in his own world, especially when he encountered cats, he went into full "run-away-come" mode 😄 Afterwards, we took a short break at Ucarı Pond and enjoyed the view. At the end of the route, we climbed to Keloğlan Cave, located near the summit of the mountain; we visited the illuminated stalactites and stalagmites and listened to the cave's famous story. The day turned into a warm exploration full of history, nature, and wonderful people on the Denizli-Acıpayam route.
