Lake Winnipeg is no joke. It’s massive, unforgiving, and demands respect—but man, is it beautiful. Those greenbacks glow different up there. We hauled everything with us—truck, trailer, and the side-by-side—ready to run and gun. We linked up with Marcus from Markem Outdoors and stayed in his ice castle, and I’ll tell you right now… if you want to experience this fishery the right way, that’s your guy. Top notch setup. Each night we kept it simple—catch and cook, good food, cold air, and even better company. That’s what it’s all about. The camaraderie, the grind, and living in the moment. It wasn’t easy though. The lake tested us. Slush pockets had us stuck more than once—digging, winching, grinding it out just to stay in the game. But that’s part of the hustle. We stayed mobile, covering water, dialing things in as we went. (We’ll be breaking down all the tricks and tips in the full video.) Pressure changed. New moon cycle rolled in. And just like that… the lake turned on. We put multiple master anglers on the ice to close out the trip. Fish of a lifetime kind of action. My biggest? 29 inches. Not quite that 30-inch mark… but an absolute tank of a walleye, and one I’ll never forget. Grateful doesn’t even begin to cover it. But we’re not done.
