The accusations relate to allegations that he has a fake bachelor's degree. This was conveyed during the indictment reading hearing at the East Jakarta District Court on Thursday (July 2, 2026). According to the JPU, the accusations made by Doctor Tifa have defamed Jokowi. This has made Jokowi feel humiliated. "Witness Ir. H. Joko Widodo suffered immaterial losses, including personal defamation and a feeling of being humiliated to the lowest level," said the prosecutor. The prosecutor also stated that several parties had accused Jokowi of using fake diplomas to fulfill his candidacy for public office. This information was based on the minutes of the criminalistics laboratory examination of digital evidence conducted by the Jakarta Metropolitan Police. The prosecutor also explained the chronology of the case. According to him, it began on March 26, 2025, when Jokowi's aide, Syarif Muhammad, reported several social media posts allegedly defaming Jokowi. These included posts by defendant Tifauzia Tyassuma, via the account @DokterTifa, which conveyed several alleged irregularities related to Jokowi's undergraduate diploma from Gadjah Mada University (UGM). These included the diploma cover, graduation photos, and the alumni book of Gadjah Mada University (UGM). According to the prosecutor, Gadjah Mada University (UGM) has confirmed that Jokowi graduated from the Faculty of Forestry, according to academic records.
