Police arrested 60-year-old Elisio Basílio da Silva as the main suspect in the murder of retired Eulália Farias Pinheiro. The case took a new turn after family members found notes with the suspect's name and phone number inside the victim's Bible. Investigations indicated that Elisio had approached the elderly woman to deceive her and steal R$ 70,000. Eulália was reported missing on June 15th of this year. Days later, her body was found in a river near Nova Londrina, Paraná. The relationship between her and Elisio began in 2024 during a medical appointment in Maringá. Over time, he gained her trust by promising a new life together. Elisio allegedly invented the purchase of a non-existent property to persuade Eulália to withdraw her savings. He regularly visited her home and even carried out renovations at her expense. The discovery of the notes in the Bible led investigators to deepen their search for evidence against him. Furthermore, witnesses identified Elisio as someone seen with Eulália shortly before her disappearance.
