Flash Flood Watch as Heavy Rains Batter Sections of Jamaica | TVJ News
The island remains on high alert after a flash flood watch was issued for multiple parishes. The flash flood watch is now in effect for low-lying and flood-prone areas across Westmoreland, St Elizabeth, Manchester, Clarendon, St Catherine, St Thomas, Kingston and St Andrew until 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The warning comes as persistent rainfall associated with a trough and low-level jet stream continues to affect sections of Jamaica, increasing the risk of flash flooding in vulnerable communities. Residents in affected areas are being urged to monitor weather updates and take the necessary precautions.
