Marisol: modelo moral de la juventud en la España franquista

The magazine “Mundo Juvenil. Revista de los amigos de Marisol” (Bruguera, 1963-1964) was conceived to publicize the figure of the child actress and singer Marisol. But it also served the purpose of turning her into a moral reference for Spanish youth. Franco's own legislation on publications aimed at children and young people (approved in 1952 and reformed in 1955) required that headers aimed at minors serve a moralizing purpose. And Marisol seemed to be the perfect embodiment of this model, as could already be seen in her filmography. Through the sections of “Mundo Juvenil” (comics, reports, missives, interviews with the protagonist...) Marisol exemplified the values that were intended to be transmitted to young people. Through her, family, education, religion and, above all, friendship were promoted, for whose consolidation the magazine forged the club “Amigos de Marisol” (Friends of Marisol).
