“完走は当たり前”と思っていた。200km雨のブルベで思い知らされた現実【BRM1004金太郎】

I took on the AJ Nishitokyo 200km Brevet. This was my fourth attempt at a 200km Brevet. I'd completed the previous three, so I thought I'd be fine this time too, but... It was raining ☔️. The temperature was low, and the conditions were not ideal. I got a cramp at Yamabushi Pass, about 60km from the start! I took a 10-minute break and started again, but the pain persisted, so I continued riding, ignoring it. I was crushed at Ashigara Pass, 110km from the start. I got another cramp, so I had to walk part of the way up. We had a BBQ at a campsite near a manned checkpoint. We ate yakitori and frankfurters and declared DNF. I experienced the rigors of a rainy brevet. Those who managed to finish in such adverse conditions are amazing.
