How to Move the Cue Ball from A to B (Part 1)

Hey, I’m J C! Welcome to Missed Again, the pool channel for advanced beginners stuck in the “awkward middle” of the game. This isn’t about perfect play. It’s about my honest struggles, frustrating misses, and the small breakthroughs that make a big difference. I explore why I miss, what I’m learning, and how I’m working through it, so you can, too. Like many aspects of pool, learning how to move the cue ball around the table is a process of self-discovery. To truly master it, you need that "aha!" moment where things click and you finally realize how to control its path. I haven't seen a video that truly helps developing players navigate this breakthrough, so I am going to attempt to map it out for you in a dedicated series on the subject. In this first video, we will completely skip side spin. All cue ball control will be executed using the vertical axis, with a primary focus on centre-ball hits. I am also confining all cue ball movement to just one half of the table—meaning there will be no multi-rail, cross-table movement. We will eventually use one or two rails within that half-table boundary, but we will start by becoming completely familiar with cue ball movement without hitting any rails at all.
