Riding Into Legends | Solo Motorcycle Journey
A cinematic solo travel documentary through rural Shimane, Japan. Riding alone across all 47 prefectures, this chapter follows the coast, old towns, hidden shrines, quiet roads, and the places most travellers miss. After a storm interrupted the route, the rain finally broke and the road opened into one of the most surprising chapters of the journey so far. When I left Fukuoka, the plan was simple: keep riding east. But a storm had other ideas. Instead of heading straight into Yamaguchi, I rode north to Shimane after my wife’s family needed help at her grandmother’s house. For the next few days, the rain pinned everything down. No riding. No filming. Just waiting for the skies to clear. Then the rain finally broke. This chapter follows three days alone through Shimane Prefecture — coastal roads, mountain towns, wet riding gear, roadside stops, quiet camps, old streets, shrines, castles, and a final night ride through bear country toward Hiroshima. Shimane felt different from the places before it. Quieter. Older. Less obvious. This was not a checklist. It was a journey through a remote part of Japan where the road, the weather, the stops, and the unexpected moments shaped the story more than the destination. One rider, one motorcycle, and one prefecture at a time. This series is about the experience of the road rather than a traditional travel itinerary — the weather, the places between destinations, and what it feels like to move through Japan one ride at a time. ▶ WATCH THE FULL PROJECT 47 SERIES: • Solo Motorcycle Journey Across Japan | Pro... 📸 Instagram: / ridethrujapan 💬 Support the Journey: https://ridethrujapan.com/support/ #JapanTravel #RuralJapan #Shimane #TravelDocumentary #project47
