4th Dr Ida S Scudder Humanitarian Oration Dr Devi Shetty 7 Aug 2015

Dr. Devi Prasad Shetty, Founder and Chairman of Narayana Hospitals Group, Bangalore, delivered the fourth Dr. Ida S. Scudder Humanitarian Oration, at the Christian Medical College Vellore on 7th August 2015. This annual Oration honours individuals who embody the values of selfless compassion and excellence of Dr. Ida Scudder, founder of CMC Vellore. Dr. Shetty was selected because of his tireless efforts to bring down the cost of quality healthcare for everyone in society through innovation, technology and economies of scale. He does this through huge "health cities" but also through extremely low cost health insurance schemes and innovations such as tiny "e-clinics" set up in disused shipping containers.
