The Spanish women's national soccer team faces its first challenge in this new era, with coach Sonia Bermúdez at the helm. And it does so with the return of player Jenni Hermoso, who in an exclusive interview with RTVE expressed her excitement at this return. Jenni Hermoso expressed her happiness and pride at her return, having been included in Sonia Bermúdez's first squad as national coach. "I have to admit I cried; it's a moment I've been waiting for for a long time," she said. The player for Mexico's Tigres doesn't hide her satisfaction and reveals that Sonia Bermúdez gave her advance notice: "I got the call from Sonia beforehand to let me rest. She told me I was selected, and I was very excited. I've had some pretty tough times that at another time in my life would have been hard to overcome. I'm proud of myself to be back here." Hermoso acknowledges the difficult times she's endured over the past year and says she missed a call from the former national team coach, Montse Tomé. "For me, after so much time, not having an explanation that made sense to me made the situation much more painful and it's something that made me suffer a lot," the player explains.
