2 Year old Makes Strawberry Short cake with Fresh Buttermilk Biscuits: Susie's Cooking Show Today, Two and a half year old Susie is utilizing the fresh butter, butter cream and whipped cream that she made in last week's cooking show episode where she taught you a little science behind how butter is made from cream. In last week's episode she made fresh butter, buttermilk and we reserved some whipped cream, that we used to top the strawberry shortcake. These biscuits were very delicious! They recipe called for a little bit of sugar in addition to the buttermilk, so they had lightly sweet flavor that complimented the fresh strawberries. Recipe: Strawberry Filling: About 2-3 cups cut strawberries 1/3 cup of sugar 2 tbs of lemon juice Set aside for 30 mintues Buttermilk Biscuits: 3 Cups of flour 1/4 cup of sugar 4 tsp baking powder 1 tsp baking soda 1/2 tsp salt 3/4 cup butter 1 cup of buttermilk Bake at 400 degrees for about 15-20 minutes, although ours seemed to take less than that.
