Crewing our first 200 miler Bigfoot 200 2022 #80 Michelle Geib

Crewing a race can be just as rewarding as running or riding one. This was Michelle’s first 200-mile adventure at the Bigfoot 200, and it turned into one hell of a journey for everyone involved. While Michelle was out there putting one foot in front of the other, a band of Manic Athletes was trying to keep her moving, stay on schedule, find the next aid station, and somehow keep ourselves on track. None of us really knew what we were getting into. A 200-miler isn’t just an adventure for the athlete. It becomes one for the crew as well. There were highs, lows, wrong turns, sleep deprivation, plenty of laughs, and moments that tested everyone. Looking back, those are the memories that make the experience so special. This is our look behind the scenes of the Bigfoot 200—not just the race, but the people, the crew, and the adventure that came with it. Hard is hard. That’s why we do it.
