We traded highways for winding dirt backroads and landed in ‪@tylerchilders‬' mule shed where the conversation turned to the patron saint of the Particular: John Prine. Prine had a word for moments like this: souvenirs. Not the kind you buy. The kind that take years to collect and arrive unannounced. Tyler said that's the whole hope of songwriting: that a song can be there for somebody when you can't. The best of this trip never made the itinerary. It was waiting down some dirt road, hoping we'd drive slow enough to notice.
