Rare 4 Foot Monumental Black Forest Musical Trumpeter Clock Long Version
This is a 5 minute video overview of this very special Black Forest clock. This clock is a three horn, 1/4 hour striking, trumpeter clock. After the 12 note call on on the hour the clock plays one of 4 tunes on a large robust music box. The heavily carved case is magnificent, 48" in height. Fantastic romantic motif with a family of deer at the base and a full relief eagle at the pediment. This clock was made by GHS in Furtwangen, Germany Circa 1890. The clock has an excellent provenance. It was apart of the cuckooland museum in the UK for decades. It is also prominently featured in the book, Rare and Unusual Black Forest Clocks. We acquired the clock directly from the museum and it has been in our collection since 2009.
