Here I showed a ring-shaped backing tool and how to make it using a clamp and a fork. While making candlesticks, I realized I needed a large backing ring to make and hammer out cups and saucers slightly larger than I already had, so I made this ring. In fact, I made not one but two rings: one from 18mm round wood and the other from 16mm.
