Reignite the Fire Within: Overcoming a set back Ep2.

Welcome to Reignite the Fire Within Series, episode 2. If you have ever lost your edge, your confidence, or that inner drive- you might find something here that resonates. After pulling my hamstring during an interval session of 6x1000m; this week I work hard to keep the consistency going whilst trying to rehab the hamstring. My name is David Gray, I competed as a track athlete in my early days and in 2019 I completed my first 100km, Ultra marathon (The Action Challenge Chiltern 100km). A couple of years later I transitioned to a hybrid approach in my training. During this time I entered The Thames Path 100km and was gaining both strength and endurance. Things were going well until I was unexpectedly struck down by an Invasive Group A streptococcus infection (iGAS) and a reaction only felt by 1 in 400,000 people, nearly losing my arm and leg. This video documents the many challenges I have had to face, on returning to training and running events.
