Experience the chants and hymns sanctuary of the Living Paintings, an immersive space where historical art is gently brought to life. For this session, I focus on a Catholic Gregorian chant dedicated to Sts. Louis and Zélie Martin, the beloved parents of St. Therese of Lisieux. Sts. Louis and Zélie Martin are a profound testament to the quiet, everyday holiness found within family life, having the unique distinction of being the first spouses canonized together as a couple. They are highly venerated as the patron saints of marriage, parenting, illness, and families, serving as a guiding light for those seeking grace in the beautiful but heavy responsibilities of the home. The Manual Animation Process: To honor the quiet intimacy of this specific chant, I animated the visual environment entirely by hand. Using a painting of a young couple embracing in a room as my canvas, I completely rejected automated AI shortcuts to ensure a true human touch. Inside DaVinci Resolve, I made a deliberate artistic choice: instead of two separate halos, I meticulously animated a single, beautiful halo rotating steadily behind them, symbolizing their profound unity. To complete the atmosphere, I manually crafted the lighting in the room to glow warmly in and out, simulating the comforting, gentle flicker of a kindling fire.
