These are both good cases with their own set of strengths, but depending on your style and what you look for in a case, one may be better over the other. Today I will go over everything you need to know. PRICE. $49 / £49 Silicone case. $59 / £59 Leather case. COLOURS. Silicone case, 8 colours. Leather case, 5 colours. Both in Midnight. DESIGN COMP. From outside, cases have similar silhouette. Though Apple logo on leather case is embossed - very sharp. INTERIOR. Both feature nice microfibre interior. Helps protect your phone from scratches when taking case on and off. FIT. Each case activates Apple’s MagSafe animation, nice touch. Both have a tight fit around the phone. FEEL IN THE HAND AND GRIP. Silicone case has this nice soft finish. Compared to previous silicone cases from apple the silicone is smoother less sticky. Leather case with natural texture has this premium feel that only leather can give. Grain texture in the supple leather provides a bit grip while still feeling smooth to the touch. Both cases feel good in the hand. To me the leather case actually feels a bit more grippy. While the impact absorbed silicone feels a bit more durable. BUTTONS. Leather case has colour matched aluminium buttons that feel clicky - I like this, just like pressing the buttons on iPhone. Silicone case, buttons are darker to match the Apple logo, made of the same silicone as case so are a bit more mushy and not as tactile. RAISED EDGES. A feature I always find important in a case is raised edges. Both cases feature a plastic raised edges by the camera and around the display to protect from surfaces. THICKNESS. Area that surprised me, I thought leather case would be thicker. But leather case is only a hair thicker. Also worth mentioning that unlike the leather case, the silicone case does attract pocket lint, this can be easily wiped off but for me this is something I am not a big fan off. WHO’S EACH CASE FOR? Leather case: More classy, Pairs seamlessly with leather wallet, Premium feel in the hand. Silicone case: Better for more active lifestyle, More impact resistant, Slightly lower price.
