Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival returned for another year of bringing a packed schedule of workshops and films. We spoke to Marc Smolowitz, Producer of DIAMOND DIPLOMACY Synopsis: Diamond Diplomacy, a documentary by Yuriko Gamo Romer, explores the dramatic and complicated relationship between Japan and the United States through the shared love of the game of baseball, from the introduction of the sport to Japan in 1872 to the two-position dominance of Shohei Ohtani. Diamond Diplomacy, packed with history, baseball legends, and unheralded greats, is a moving reflection on the power of the game to build bridges in a divided world.
