How To Do a Low Bun Hair Style for Ballet | Lazy Dancer Tips

In this video I'll show you how to do a Low Bun (or Chignons), a classic ballet hair styles. The Low Bun keeps away all the hair from the face, which for a dancer is important to have a clear view and no distractions while executing complicated steps and turn, it’s a sophisticated style, often seen in 18th Century ballets. The Bun shows the beautiful and elegant lines of neck and facial features. Meticulous grooming is part of the ballet world: You never see a dancer with messy hair as it’s part of the discipline and training. It’s easier to accomplish a Bun with mid- long hair, but if you have short hair fear not, the Bun can still be done. If you have short hair don’t use a Bun Foundation, which are those thick sponge-like ringlets to place around the pony tail, unless you want your Bun to look like a Bagel on your head, it looks wrong. On Ebay you can find Fake Hair Buns, which can be attached to your very small pony tail/short hair. They are softer and real looking. You want to make the Bun part of your head line, not sticking out as a double cream cheese bagel.
