The bed is made, the dishes are in the cupboard, personal belongings are scattered everywhere – there's nothing to indicate that no one lives here anymore. And yet it's been abandoned for years... What we didn't know at the time: The woman who lived here was named Maria. Only after our visit did we learn that she died in 2022 at the age of 100 – just 10 days before her 101st birthday. Why was the house never emptied? Why are all the doors locked multiple times and even the windows barred? And why does everything feel as if she's about to return at any moment?
