This year marks the 40th anniversary of the Islay Carnival, and Bunahabren is celebrating with a limited edition of 600 bottles of An Cuan Garbh 15-Year-Old. This is also the second part of The Westering Home Collection, "The Journey," a three-year trilogy where the master blender uses limited-edition products to tell the complete story of Bunahabren's origins, from its departure, journey, to its final destination. It depicts the journey of Bunahabren whisky malt from its crossing of the ocean to its long years of whisky production on Islay, paying tribute to this challenging journey, much like whisky maturing in oak barrels, constantly transforming and ultimately developing a profound and distinctive aroma. Drinking this whisky, matured in Portuguese White Port casks, I'm reminded of Lao Tzu's saying: "Great virtue has no corners, great talent matures late, great sound is silent, great form is formless."
