Clutching My Pearls! 💫Gorgeous Acrylic Pearl Pour with Amazing Cells! Plus Bonus Pours!

I wanted to play with my stencils more and went looking for a pearl pour to embellish but didnt find what I wanted.. so I decided to pour a few. This is a bit out of my comfort zone as I generally prefer thicker paint. but lets give it a shot. I love pearl pours, they have a softness to them that I feel is perfect for embellishing with a stencil and This Little Piggy pigments! Lets get started! Colors Amsterdam Titanium White plus DecoArt Satin Enamels Pure White Artist Loft Metallic Cobalt Blue Atelier Interactive Turquoise DecoArt Americana Decor Metallics 24 K Gold Champagne Gold combined Pouring Medium: Liquitex Gloss Medium Floetrol a lot of Water There is NO Silicone in Any of My Paint. I have a few different canvases today, a 15x30 inch gallery wrapped canvas and a 20x20 gallery wrapped canvas, as well as a 3 pack of heart shaped canvases. The science behind pearl pours is very interesting. By stretching the top color of paint very very thin, you allow the paints underneath to pop thru in gorgeous multicolor cells. To create this effect I use Liquitex Gloss Medium and Floetrol as my pouring medium, with a lot of water to thin them out. When drizzling off your stick to check consistency, they should not leave any mound at all, but should sink right into the cup right away. Using DecoArt Satin Enamels in with my Amsterdam Titanium White also helps to create cells, as well as that softer cloudy look in the piece. I do not use a basecoat or a flow extender with this technique. I really love how the 15x30 came out! I like the 20x20 but I preferred the first version of that pour. After the pearl pours I also show you a very fun technique that my friend Fiona from Fiona Art likes to do.. a Dip! I dip my heart shaped canvases into the drips on my table. I love how these look! I intend to use all of these canvases as backgrounds for stencils using This Little Piggy pigments and Gel Gloss. I will show you all of todays pieces dry in the next video!
