Waterloo Uncovered: Hopton Castle with Phil Harding
In the final video of our series created in collaboration with Waterloo Uncovered, Phil Harding recounts the story of Hopton Castle, the location of a bloody siege during the English Civil War. During Time Team excavations on the site in 2010, Phil discovered a striking fragment of the struggle between the defending Parliamentarians and attacking Royalists – a single human tooth. Join us as Phil examines how human remains are a unique and vital aspect of discovering the past the past in archaeological excavations from Hopton Castle to the Battle of Waterloo. We are proud to be collaborating with Waterloo Uncovered to bring you a new video series. Waterloo Uncovered is a registered UK charity that combines a world‐class archaeology project on the battlefield of Waterloo with veteran care and recovery.
