Two weeks after Hurricane Melissa, there’s growing confusion online about whether Jamaica is open for tourism and whether travelers should cancel, postpone, or book. In this video, I break down what’s actually happening on the ground: which regions are open, which are still recovering, and how to travel without draining essential local resources. This update is based on reported news, research, and local sources on the island. I also created a custom reopening map showing impacted regions, areas where hotels are already reopening, and how to plan a more conscious trip post-hurricane.
