We filmed the interview with Kirill and Vitaly in the summer, but saved it for the very end of the year because it was perfect for Christmas. It's about dreams coming true—living by the ocean, getting married, 16 years together. It's also about the crises you need to be prepared for on the path to achieving such dreams. The guys started dating in 2009 in Belarus and have spent almost their entire adult lives together. They moved to Moscow together, then to Lisbon together. They run a joint business—weddings for LGBTQ people. Often, gay people who have lived together for so long become hostages to large numbers: they're viewed as unique representatives of a relic species, they're envied, or, conversely, accused of heteronormativity. In short, long years together awaken all sorts of fantasies in strangers, obscuring the real people behind them. I tried to avoid this in the interview.
