Ishim is a village, part of the Ulanovskoye rural settlement of the Yaya municipal district. Currently (2010 census) the population of the village is 378 people. The village of Ishim was founded in the 18th century. It is located in the northern part of the region, in the subtaiga zone on the right bank of the Yaya River. The name of the village was given by settlers who previously lived on the Ishim River - a tributary of the Irtysh River. In 1920 - 1924, the village was part of the Ishim volost of the Tomsk district of the Tomsk province, being the volost center. In 1859, 1,566 people lived in the village, in 1911 - 1,619 people, there was a church, a one-class school, a hospital, retail stores, a tannery and a mill. In 1968, the village had a population of 471, in 1989 - 500, in 2002 - 486 people, there was an eight-year school (as of 01.01.2005 - a basic comprehensive school), a club, a first-aid post (FAP) and a store, a branch of the Ulanovsky state farm, KSP Ishimskoye, and PSKH Rassvet were located.
