Shocking! Eyewitnesses recount horror as pub fire kills at least 27 in Thailand’s Bangkok

An explosive fire at a popular pub on July 12 in Thailand's Bangkok has killed 27 people, Reuters said citing officials. According to Reuters, this is one of the deadliest such incidents in the tourism hub in recent years. Also 63 people were injured and were hospitalised, Reuters said citing Bangkok governor Chadchart Sittipunt. Thai Prime Minister Charnvirakul, who visited the site, said the pub in Bangkok’s Chatuchak district rapidly filled with smoke after a fire broke out. This forced many to run to the back of the venue near the bathrooms, but there were no fire escapes.
