Solo Bike Tour, Korea 4 Rivers - The highs and lows. Pt 1

630km. 10 days. No experience. I cycled slow and solo across South Korea on a whim — and this is what actually happened. Recently retired, it was my first-ever bike tour, and my first Vlog. This is an honest look at what the cross-country journey felt like. Part 1 covers days 1-4 as I settled into the ride and unexpectedly tackled the biggest mountain. The Four Rivers Path is the cross-country cycling route from Seoul to Busan. It follows South Korea's four major rivers: The iconic Han River starting in Seoul. The scenic Geum River through the central valley. The peaceful Yeongsan River in the southwest. The mighty Nakdong River leading all the way to Busan. 📌 WATCH THE FULL SERIES: • Part 2 (Days 5-10):    • Solo Bike Tour, Korea 4 Rivers Pt 2   • 9 Things That Surprised Me:    • I Cycled Solo Across South Korea — Here's ...   🚴 THE ROUTE & GEAR: The 4 Rivers Bike Path is a dedicated cycling route running from Seoul to Busan across South Korea. • Bike: Trek FX3 rented from Bike Rental Korea • Bags: Ortlieb Back-Roller Plus Moss Green 23L • Navigation: Wahoo Element & Kakao Maps and Ride With GPS on Android Phone • Cameras: Insta360 X5 and iPhone 17 Pro 💬 Drop a comment if you are planning your own 4 Rivers trip—I reply to every question! #4rivers #BikeTouring #SouthKorea #SoloTravel #Retirement #insta360 00:00 - Introduction 01:12 - Day 1: Leaving Seoul 02:28 - Day 1: Crossing the Han River to Gangnam 03:24 - Day 1: Rail Tunnels 03:33 - Day 1: Old Yanssu Railway Bridge 04:00 - Day 1: Arriving in Yangpyeong 05:05 - Day 2: The River Valleys to Yeoju 06:04 - Day 2: Conquering the First Major Hill 07:28 - Day 3: Yeoju Wier - Morning Fog 08:33 - Day 3: Spectacular River Infrastructure 10:01 - Day 3: Arriving in Chungju/Mari Hotel 10:01 - Day 3: Chungju Mahak Market Dinner 13:07 - Day 4: The Heatwave & The Mapping Mistake 14:02 - Day 4: Stopping in Suanbo Spa Town 17:48 - Day 4: Climbing the Ihwaryeong Pass (548m) 20:27 - Day 4: Descending into Mungyeong
