Designated Safeguarding Leads Network Event June 2026

DSL Network Meeting June 2026 | Safeguarding Updates, Youth Vaping, Young Carers, NSPCC Resources, Families First Partnership This recording of the NYSCP Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) Network Meeting (June 2026) brings together multi-agency partners to share key safeguarding updates, emerging learning, and practical resources to support schools and education settings. Session highlights include: Public Health – Youth Vaping This session explores emerging work around youth vaping and its relevance to safeguarding, including opportunities for partnership working with schools. Young Carers – Identification and Support Young Carers highlighted tools and services available to help schools better identify and support young carers, including: • Carers’ Resource – Young Carers support • Carers Plus Yorkshire – Young People’s Service This supports DSLs to strengthen early identification and ensure young carers receive timely and appropriate support. NSPCC Resources for Schools The NSPCC shared a range of resources to support safeguarding practice, including: • Speak Out Stay Safe • Talk PANTS resources for schools • Techosaurus online safety • SEND safeguarding resources • Listen Up Speak Up campaign These resources support schools to strengthen prevention, promote pupil voice, and improve safeguarding awareness across a range of needs and contexts. NYSCP Business Unit and Partnership Updates An overview of safeguarding developments, partnership learning, and what this means in practice for DSLs, with a focus on impact for children and families and improving coordinated support. This network session forms part of NYSCP’s ongoing programme of learning events, ensuring that safeguarding knowledge and resources are shared consistently and embedded into frontline practice across North Yorkshire.
