“I Told You Not to Do It” – A Carolyn Graham Jazz Chant 🎶 Performed by Carolyn Graham & Teacher Jon 🎹 This two-part video brings to life one of Carolyn Graham’s most iconic Jazz Chants: “I Told You Not to Do It.” 🟣 In Part 1, Carolyn Graham herself leads the chant with a group of trainee teachers—showcasing her signature rhythm and how to “play” with language musically. 🟢 In Part 2, Teacher Jon sings and plays piano, adapting the chant for use in class—highlighting how it can teach pronunciation, pronouns, irregular verbs, and of course, rhythmic fluency. These chants are brilliant for beginners of English, especially in Asia, where speaking out loud in class can be a hurdle.
