Dunnet Head & Thurso ... are they worth a visit?

Dunnet Head & Thurso – Are They Worth a Visit? In this episode of our NC500 journey, we head to Dunnet Head, the most northerly point on the mainland of Great Britain, before continuing on to Thurso on Scotland’s north coast. Dunnet Head is often overshadowed by John o’ Groats, but is it actually the better stop? With dramatic cliffs, sea views, open landscapes and that real “edge of the world” feeling, it certainly feels like a place worth taking time over. We also visit Thurso and ask the same question — is it worth including on your NC500 route, or is it just somewhere to pass through? This video is part of my continuing NC500 road trip series, combining travel, scenery, honest commentary and original music. Music used in this video: “Too Close to the Sun” – an original track also used in my earlier video, "The Long Drive North". "Celtic Flame" co-written by me as part of The Countrymen, previously released by the band on their album "The River Rolls On" . If you’re planning the NC500, or just enjoy Scottish road trips, I hope this gives you a feel for whether Dunnet Head and Thurso deserve a place on your route.
