China is known for taking on some of the largest infrastructure projects in the world. The Ocean Flower Island is the largest artificial island in the world, and is being built in the Hainan province of China. The $25 Billion Dollar development project is set to be a tourist location to Rival Dubai and the tourism market it created. But 2 years after the project was scheduled to be completed, large sections of the development are still not completed. To make matters worse, the developer announced that 39 residential buildings on the island will be demolished due to violations in Urban Planning Law. In addition to these problems, the developer, China Evergrande Group has over $300 Billion Dollars in debt, and is rumored to be filing for bankruptcy sometime this year.
