Why you don't change your mind
I'm Andres Acevedo and this is The Market Exit. I've made a number of video essays in which I show information and present arguments, hoping that this will change someone's mind. But is it even possible to change someone's mind? Should I even bother trying? In this video essay, I try to find out, with the help of David McRaney's book "How Minds Change". In the end, I do reach a conclusion, after I've talked about the information deficit model, the viral dress, Jean Piaget's theory of cognitive development and what Dead Poets Society can show us about Mark Granovetter's theory about the strength of weak ties. 📺 Timestamps: 00:00 Introduction 01:18 Chapter 1: Our world reshaped in 3 examples 03:53 Chapter 2: Facts be damned – the information deficit model 05:47 Chapter 3: The dress – How our priors shape our truth 09:28 Chapter 4: Piaget – I might be wrong but I'm probably not 14:21 Conclusion – Should I even bother trying? 19:53 Thank you How you can SUPPORT me: 🙏 Patreon: / themarketexit 💫 Swish (Swe only): 123-333 34 65 Where you can FIND me: 📱 Instagram: / themarketexit 👨👩👧 Facebook: / themarketexit 🌐 Personal Webpage: https://andresacevedo.com 🌐 Channel Webpage: https://themarketexit.com 👔 LinkedIn: / andresace 🐥 Twitter (The Market Exit): / themarketexit 🐥 Twitter (Personal): / andresswe 💌 Email: [email protected] ________________ 🔍 Another video you may like: ▶ • Why meritocracy is a LIE...
