Living History: 200 Years of Mountain Man Rendezvous 1825-2025

Living history reenactment brings to life the rendezvous of the 1820's - 1840's Rocky Mountain fur trade. 2025 Memorial Day Mountain Man rendezvous at Fort Buenaventura, Ogden, Utah. Mountain Man activities include black powder rifle shooting competitions, Tomahawk and knife throwing competitions, frying pan toss and traders row; even a candy canon for the. kids! Shining times for everyone. I realized a long time ago that I can’t sit around every campfire or stand at every Mountain Man rendezvous council fire. So I started this YouTube channel to share the frontier know-how and trail wisdom passed down to me by old gray-beard Mountain Men long since gone. I’ve been followin’ the ways of the mountain men of the fur-trade era—shootin’ muzzleloader rifles, black powder pistols, and attendin’ rendezvous—ever since I first saw Jeremiah Johnson over 50 years ago. That’s ten lustrums on the trail. Now I aim to pass some of that knowledge along and help keep this valuable livin’ tradition alive.
