Hutnik Kraków (1995-1997) - od nieba do piekła

Within a year, Hutnik Kraków went from heaven to hell. First, they sensationally advanced to the European Cups (1996), and then, just as unexpectedly, failed to stay in the first league (1997). The turn of the 1980s and 1990s saw a slow start for Hutnik Kraków. Despite this, the club secured promotion to the first league one matchday before the end of the 1989/90 season. They also reached the semifinals of the Polish Cup that same season. The architect of their promotion to the top league was coach Władysław Łach, who built the team around alumni and players from local clubs. Łach also led Hutnik in subsequent competitions, although it was far from certain that they would qualify. Before the first match against Stal Mielec, some players were reluctant to leave the club due to salary arrears. At that time, the club relied on funding from the Tadeusz Sendzimir Steelworks. However, during the political transformation, the club was understandably experiencing considerable turmoil and was reluctant to contribute to the sport. Ultimately, Hutnik took to the pitch and drew 2-2 with Stal Mielec in their top-flight debut. The team finished the 1990/91 season in a respectable 5th place. The best season in the club's history to date, however, was the 1995/96 season, when Hutnik qualified for the European competitions. There, they advanced through two qualifying rounds, only to face AS Monaco, a team brimming with star players, in the first round. The 1996/97 season, which began with European competitions, ended in disaster, as Hutnik were relegated to the second division. Since then, the Nowa Hita club has never returned to the Ekstraklasa. #ekstraklasa #hutnikkraków ➡️Interview between Łukasz Olkowicz and Stanisław Kmita on Onet Premium: https://przegladsportowy.onet.pl/stan... ➡️Some of the materials used in the video come from Bernard Łach's channel: https://www.youtube.com/@bernardach60... ➡️Support the Futbolowe Wzloty i Upadki channel and receive the following bonuses:    / @futbolowewzlotyiupadki   ➡️The background music in the video comes from: Epic Cinematic | Last Hero by Alex-Productions | • Cinematic Inspira...   Music promoted by http://onsound.eu/
