Yokomo YD-2 S Shakedown Out Of Box

The YD-2 S chassis configuration marked the first major design difference in the chassis plate, utilizing a tub style lower chassis with raised sides to replaced the top deck to retain rigidity. The out of box settings were modified from the "E" series. The transmission and motor mounting were also different, the transmission still had 4 gears in it but the gears lived along the bottom of the chassis and the motor was moved up into a high mounted position. Suspension parts remained the same but track width, camber and caster were changed. The track width was shorter in the front end, which resulted in less steering angle out of the in comparison the the "E". This "S" chassis does drift alright but does leave a lot to be desired which can be easily rectified with a light tune. The S platform however did pave the way for many great future releases such as the "S-Plus", SX-2 and SX-3 versions.
