On Love - How to fall and stay in love with the work you make - Easy painting

Hi everybody! Today we will create a series of minimalist paintings in preparation for Valentine’s Day, using flat colour, simplified shapes and expressive brushwork. This video is designed for beginners and for artists without formal training who want to focus less on technical perfection and more on clarity, intention and connection. We begin with double portraits, working directly with paint and avoiding detailed facial features or anatomy. Instead, we block in large areas of colour and let the brushstrokes provide texture and visual interest. This approach removes unnecessary complexity and allows you to concentrate on composition, colour relationships and decision making. This lesson also reflects on the parallels between art and human relationships. Initial attraction matters, but what keeps our attention is structure, honesty and intention. Through painting, we discuss expectations, trust, consistency and the importance of understanding what you truly have to offer as an artist. Rather than chasing beauty or novelty, this video encourages commitment to a personal language, working within limitations, and building trust with your audience over time.
