Motorcycle Adventure Camp‼️ Escaping the Bugs and Preparing For The Journey Home

After riding nearly 900 miles across back roads, country highways, dirt roads, and forgotten stretches of America on two wheels, I finally made it to Texas and set up camp deep along the river with some good friends. This trip became everything I love about motorcycle adventure travel: lightweight gear, freedom, wilderness living, and relying on practical skills instead of hauling unnecessary equipment. My entire camp setup was carried on the bike using a minimalist hammock and poncho tarp shelter system that has served me well for years. In this episode, we spend our days exploring the Texas wilderness, foraging wild edibles, finding berries, catching catfish, searching for giant gar in the San Antonio River, and scavenging huge freshwater clams right out of the river. We cook them over camp and turn simple wild food into an unforgettable meal beside the water. I also talk about dealing with one of the biggest challenges riders and campers face this time of year: ticks, mosquitoes, chiggers, and biting insects. With ticks being especially bad this season, I share practical field-tested advice that has helped me avoid getting eaten alive while camping and traveling outdoors for decades.
