Gulzhan says that in 2013, her husband took out a loan in the name of a relative, who ultimately defaulted on the payments. The family was forced to sell their house in the village and rent a place in the city. Eventually, due to constant arguments due to lack of money and excessive debt, the couple divorced. The large family has been on the housing waiting list since 2018. They are currently number 335. By law, housing is allocated based on the waiting list. However, after numerous appeals, the Akimat decided to accommodate the woman. They offered her a room in a dilapidated dormitory built in 1980. If Gulzhan Seidildina refuses to live in the old dormitory, officials are asking her to return the keys to her room. Alternatively, she can live for free until she receives housing on the waiting list. However, the woman is asking for safe housing, albeit temporary, as she fears for the health of her children.
