Olive trees have been cultivated for the first time in Kazakhstan. Farmers in the Zhetysay district began this project, and after three years of testing and research, they planted seedlings on a 5-hectare plot. According to the farmers, the local climate is favorable for the growth of these trees. If the project is successful, the first harvest is expected within two years. They intend to produce olive oil and natural soap from the resulting fruit. In the future, the farmers hope to increase their planting area severalfold and build a processing plant. They say olive cultivation will diversify the region's agriculture and create new jobs. And, of course, it will provide the domestic market with high-quality products.
