The New Linkin Park "One Step" Vinyl Reissues—A Visit to Seattle's Black Belt Mastering
Tracking Angle west coast correspondent Michael Trochalakis recently visited Levi Seitz's Seattle based Black Belt Mastering where the new Because Sound Matters Linkin Park "One Step" released were cut. Olivia Rodriguez's "Sour" and Beyonce's "Renaissance" are among the many other well regarded vinyl issues and reissues Seitz cut at Black Belt. Seitz gives Michael a tour of the facility and discusses his three lathes, then the two sit down and talk about lacquer cutting generally and from files specifically. During the conversation Seitz remarks that he was in high school when a Pearl Jam record he cut for a reissue was originally released! Check your age at the door!
