From Embers to Sky

Sometimes inspiration doesn’t arrive because you’re looking for it. Sometimes it arrives because you refuse to give your past one more second of your attention. This morning started with a hard ride on my fat tire bike. I pushed myself until my legs were jelly, and when I climbed off the bike I honestly felt like I’d forgotten how to walk. 😂 After an electrolyte drink and a fresh cup of coffee, I settled into the quiet of the honey store. I started watching a few videos when one popped up that tried to drag me back into a chapter of my life that I’ve already lived through. I shut it off. Enough. I picked up my acoustic guitar instead. A few minutes later this melody appeared. Actually… two of them did. This is one of those moments that reminds me that creativity isn’t just something we do.... it’s a choice. Every time we refuse to feed old pain and choose to create instead, we turn embers into something that reaches much higher. This piece is called From Embers to Sky.
