Couture Draping Tutorial: Draping a corset pattern

Hey designers! Today we’re creating an extended hip corset pattern from scratch. This was my first time designing this particular style of corset, so there are definitely areas that could be refined — but the core construction concepts and techniques taught in this video can absolutely be applied to similar structured corset projects. In this tutorial, we focus on the pattern-making and foundation stage of the garment. For this project, we’re using: • Muslin • Draping ribbon • Ultra-stiff Pellon (I used fusible, but you can use non-fusible as well) • Polyfill • Plastic wrap (for padding the mannequin properly) Ultra-stiff Pellon can be purchased at Hobby Lobby or ordered online. ⸻ Want the Full Garment Tutorial?
